Fractions are often thought to be really difficult. I think one big reason for this is that there are so many systems for fraction symbols, all with different rules.
This week, we want to help students to understand the connections between equivalent common fractions and decimals.
But rather than showing them the symbolic methods for converting, we focus on what the fraction symbols mean by looking at diagrams, then matching the number of hundredths to the size of the first fraction.
